If this threat had teeth, you wouldn't have even bothered threatening, you'd
just have gone ahead and done it, Troll.

Yeah, yeah.

'The French Revolution was a distant cloud twenty years off when
Mozart at fourteen wrote this opera for Milan. Court circles could
still tie themselves in as many amorous knots as they pleased to while
away a pleasant evening in whatever historical setting they chose. So
Mithridates is less concerned with Rome (it has to despatch him when
all are reconciled) than with the fortunes in love of himself and his
two sons. It is misunderstanding that keeps the work afloat and gives
the teenage Mozart every opportunity to agonise with his characters;
and already his wind instruments have the secret of worming into any
heart.'

With apologies to Rugby (BBC Radio3) ...

A couple of interesting Lunchtime Concert programs at BBC Radio3:

1) Felicity Lott (with Graham Johnson) doing a fine set of French songs,
by Berlioz, Duparc, Hahn, Chausson, Falla (the highlight) and Gounod.
She seems to me to have quite an affinity for this repertoire. While
the program aired as a repeat on Saturday July 12, I couldn't get the
"listen again" to work from there. However, it's still available for
less than a day from the original Monday airing,
http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio3/lunchtimeconcerts/pip/afiqo/.
Advance 20 minutes to skip over the Wesendonck Lieder and get to
the French stuff. (I regret to say that's what I did.)

2) Nash Ensemble members in a program (Thurs.) from the St. Magnus Festival
(Orkney): http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio3/lunchtimeconcerts/pip/tfgtr/.
The highlight by far was the Britten String Quartet #2 (starts
32 minutes in), an impassioned performance. I haven't heard this
quartet enough to give any comparisons, but it's a work I will surely
want to get to know better, and this version seemed quite effective.

Please provide evidence for your claim of the non-occurrence of the
Holocaust.

In case anyone here is foolish enough to believe that even you are not
so stupid and ignorant as to claim such a thing, here is your quote,
with a link to the full context:

"The Holocaust did not happen."

This is the umpteenth time I have requested this, and you have refused
to defend your position each time. Now please back up your statement
with evidence and argument, or withdraw it.

Chopin Playing of the Highest Order

This performance of the Berceuse op. 57 by ABM is IMO transcendentally
great. Just about all other Berceuse performances sound pedestrian
and ordinary next to this one, and I include Friedman, Rubinstein,
Hoffman, Rosen.

Michelangeli removes the accumulated dross of excess - of rubato,
unnecessary sentimentality - and renders it in it's tonally Zen-like
prismatic, fluid magnificence!! For me, one of the greatest Chopin
performances of all time.
