Hi music fans,

Life is pretty boring and wanna explore the new musical realm which is
100%% stranger to me: Symphonies of Dmitri Shostakovich. I intend to
buy his entire symphony works. Kindly recommend the conductor and
orchestra. Is Rostropovich's conducting good?

I am in the mood to start listening to Shostakovich's string quartets.
Does anyone have any good recommendations for artists performing these
works?

(I have listened a great deal to his symphonies, conducted by Haitink,
which I really like a lot.)

Heard recently a recording of a live performance by Rubinstein of the
Brahms 2nd Concerto. I read he recorded it 6 times. This live one part
of the 6 ?
Would have been one of the early ones, IMHO. Maybe with Krips, 1952 ?

I do not know the conductor, orchestra, date.

Would anyone here be able to provide these facts ? Thanks !!
