Was listening today.

First of all, the sound they recorded in 1948 was pretty good. Before
Columbia decided to become the "Anti-Christ" of Music

Cut "Bianca" and it is s a perfect score, no weak songs. The one I
wish I wrote? B.U.Y Shakespeare. Did Larry Hart help Cole Porter from
the other side:-). He at least inspired him.

Lisa Kirk and Alfred Drake are great Musicians and out class anything
today, by far.

Patricia Morrison is so out of tune in "So In Love" it is amazing.
What was Pembrooke Davenport listening to? But she still is
preferable to Kathryn Grayson(AVLFAV*) who looked great in the body
suit for "We Open In Venice", in the film. Morrison's "I Hate Men" is
okay. Great song.

Too Darn Hot-- this must have been arranged by the guy who did the
incidental dance Music or does R.R. Bennett have a hip side I never
heard. The audience must have exploded after they did this, every
night. I wonder if they know what Mr. Porter really meant. The way
they presented this in the film is sad. This version is second only to
Ms. Fitzgerald's with Buddy Bregman

On the sidewalk, yesterday, decomposing in the rain. A single cover off
an LP box set. Haydn Opus 33, Vox, by... the Dekany Quartet.

Hmm, was it still there when I left? I think maybe Jeff Rosenfeld took
it.

According to the book written by Arnold Jacobs, he was the Tuba player
for the 1941 season and James Chambers was the second horn player.
They both went to Pittsburgh for the 41-42 season and then to Chicago
and Philly respectively for the 42-43 season

What is the Principal Horn of the Philly orch doing in this orchestra?
A ringer?

How many were students at Curtis?

Happy New Year folks.

Here's a little story, followed by a question to see who can match it:

Quite some time back I heard a very prominent pianist perform (but not
announce) as an encore a short piece with a decidedly catchy trotting
rhythm. I always wondered what this piece was; I never heard it again, and
could not find it by rummaging around in music libraries.

Most recently, I stumbled on the website devoted to the pianist, and the
website listed his full repertoire (rather spotty in some respects). I
homed in on the works by composers with whom I was completely unfamiliar,
and started listening to the available Amazon sound clips.

The piece turned out to be D

What does 'cancelling a posting' do?
Does it remove the posting and the answers?
If so: what if somebody wants to know what the answer is?

It is Nov 1 2008. Yankee stadium, Game 7 of the World Series. Bottom
of the 9th. The Yankees trail 1-0 but have runners on second and
third. The best pitcher in the NL is on the hill. A-Rod , looking for
his first RBI of the posteason is the batter. He swings through the
first pitch. Same for the second pitch but the Yankees get a big break
as A-Rod drops dead .

After the carcas is cleared and BorASS takes 10%% of the body,
Jeannie Nelson shows up (in her prime). She says that due to the
circumstances Haji has allowed her to blink you any batter from the
last 30 years (in his prime) to finish the at bat. Who do you pick?

p.s Jeter is on third but you can have him if you want and pinch run
with Herb Washington
