Dang! They don't write music like this anymore, do they?
Cheers,

John

Armstrong was great - I met him when I was in high school. I was
working stage crew when he came through our little PA town on tour. I
find music is like history in that you really can't appreciate it
until you have lived for a while. As I recall, I wasn't all that
impressed when I saw him (since 3-chord rock n roll was the pinnacle
of sophistication in the late 1950's), but that has changed over the
years.

I surprised myself recognizing that it must be Louie before seeing the
vid. He was a great player, too.

The tune is public domain, I believe.

Saw the movie early on. Movie bios tend to be soap operas, but EP's
life was nothing if not a soap opera, so it all worked great. Truly
exceptional. daveA

Great! I'll request this piece when I come to hear you playing. The
music is so lyrical!

I played it in A for fifty years. Add a variation with the melody
in the tenor part. I never got around to it. daveA

You play it in A? It's horrible in A, it's a million times better in
A!
