What is the album title? His solo phrasing and chord substitution was
very interesting.

Do you know if it's contained in this?

Just bought it, haven't had a chance to listen. Considering I never
went out much, I'm lucky to have seen him play live, and even meet him.
He was a humble, sweet man by all reports.

Apparently there is little or no overlap--there is very little info
included on this Japanese import. All the sides were recorded between
1950 and 1956

No, but think again - impressive when you first hear.

Now try this, visit the weblink, and click on each of the tracks in turn
at random during the time when any other track is playing. Do it a few
times.

He was playing exactly the same 'turns' round the notes of each melody,
song after song. The diminished chord runs surround the notes and move
with them, like a pattern.

It was a style, and it impresses, and it's very difficult, and it's up
to speed and superbly phrased - but it's monotonous and routine at heart.
