Hey folks,

I'm interested to get impressions of a website for Garret Lee, a new
guitar builder in New Jersey who hired me to record my playing on two
of his recent guitars, one spruce and one cedar. The site is:

http://www.leeguitarworks.com/Sounds.html

I found the guitars remarkable for a new builder and had fun making
the recordings.

Haven't posted a video in a while. Here is a new one of our Austin
Bella Corda group from a performance at an ensemble festival. The kids
were the youngest performers and set the bar pretty high. I am sorry
about the conductor.

OT Joke time - Don't argue with a woman

Author: Richard F. Sayage
Date: Apr 30, 2008 13:44

One morning, the husband returns the boat to their lakeside cottage after
several hours of fishing and decides to take a nap. Although not familiar
with the lake, the wife decides to take the boat out. She motors out a short
distance, anchors, puts her feet up, and begins to read her book.

The peace and solitude are magnificent.

Along comes a Fish and Game Warden in his boat. He pulls up alongside the
woman and says, 'Good morning, Ma'am. What are you doing?'
'Reading a book' she replies, (thinking, Isn't that obvious?')
'You're in a Restricted Fishing Area,' he informs her.
'I'm sorry, officer, but I'm not fishing. I'm reading.'
'Yes, but I see you have all the equipment. For all I know you could start
at any moment. I'll have to take you in and write you up.'

'If you do that, I'll have to charge you with sexual assault,' says the
woman.
'But I haven't even touched you,' says the Game Warden.
'That's true, but you have all the equipment. For all I know you could start
at any moment.'

'Have a nice day ma'am,' he said as he quietly left.

After being asked one simple question by Stephanopoulos, which he thought
was tough and unfair, about his relationship with Louis Farrakhan, a
domestic terrorist, he now has said he doesn't want to do any more debates.
How convenient.

Just keep eating your damn waffles Hussein.

11-string recuerdos- where on the bell curve?

I was both reticent to exhibit the temerity of posting this in the
Wang Yameng tremolo discussion, and loath to submit it to the recent
"worst recuerdos" thread. I'll let the group decide in which company
it belongs. The original (non- HiFi) VHS has a lot of hiss on it
which I tried to mollify, but someone with real expertise in this area
could probably do better. Actual hiss removal programs I've tried made
it sound weird; any engineering suggestions would be welcome.

I respond with my typical lack of alacrity...

When looking at your Scarlatti I was immediately struck by the
similarity between this piece and one by Handel that I like to play,
in the frequent use of the texture in triple time of stepwise parallel
thirds, alternately descending and ascending from one measure to the
next, in motion against a superior pedal. Its taken me until just
recently to get the following pulled together:

Its probably nothing but co-incidence; its not at all an unlikely
Baroque texture- but its fun to think about Scarlatti having met
Handel and having more than adequately held his own with him in an
