Does one exist?

I started with classical training, but play more jazz and bossa nova than
anything else, and I like having a cutaway, but the ones I've tried just
don't sound like a good classical guitar. My Ovation ( Celebrity ) is old
and intonation is terrible.

I heard a student's guitar today, brand new, high tension strings on a
cedar top guitar, sounded stuffy to me. Is there any general "rule"
about whether cedar or spruce works better with high tension strings?

is needed for my 6 year old grandson who says he is interested in learning
to play. Any suggestions on that and what book to use (just interested in
seeing what you all will come up with)? I'll start him off and see how that
goes.
