I Was Asked To Post This OT

Author: Kyla =^. .^=

Hi there.

If interested, I have uploaded all of the late great John Weber's albums to:

http://www.multitrackers.com/category/john-weber/

Please pass the url on to any of John's friends, or in forums/usenet,
website links, blogs, etc.

If time permits, in the summer, a new project might be possible
(remixing/working some of John's demos for a new album).

Best,

Will

I doubt very much it was the client. They are usually morons.

My bet would be that it was a personal referral from somebody inside the
agency - either the producer or art director or a hired music director.
Usually that's the case - unless it's something very plainly in the
mainstream like "Rock and Roll' by Led Zeppelin - if it's at all
idiosycratic or obscure, it tends to be one individual's personal
suggestion that somehow miraculously survives the normal stupidization
processes.

  wistful songs

"In My Life" has been my favorite Beatles song since its release. When
I'm in certain moods, I find songs of this nature appealing, especially
as I grow older and reflect on roads not taken, unintentional slights
given when I was young and foolish, relationships destroyed when they
could have been healed, etc. "In My Life" has an upbeat aspect to it,
however, that other songs in the same vein don't.

I was listening a little while ago to a Pearl Jam song called "Elderly
Woman Behind The Counter In A Small Town", which captures this feeling
well. I'm not a huge Pearl Jam fan, but this song really appeals to me
(as do a handful of their others).

Here's a YouTube video of the song that lets you see the words as the
song is being played:

Do any of you have a favorite tune that fits one way or another into
this category?

My version of "I want you" (she's so heavy)

Ok, I recorded this in 2003. It was supposed to have 5 rhythm guitars
playing..but I hit the initialize button, which reduced me to one main
rhythm guitar. This is a rough take, and I never got around to re-
recording it, with a regular drum kit. These early electronic drum
kits really suck..and yes, there are flaws in the recording.

Whether you choose Nike, Ping, Port Authority, or Sport-Tek, you will
find that when you have needs in corporate apparel, these fashion

  TNT show (no Beatles)

The TNT show was the follow up to the TAMI show, a rock n roll show
filmed as a motion picture release. I think someone in rmd sent me this
dvd copy of the TNT show, and I finally found a machine that could sort
of play it. It's a rough copy, and the sound is about three seconds
ahead of the picture, but until this is released properly, it's a way of
watching some incredible music.

The capper is Ike and Tina, who end the show, much in the same way that
James Brown ended the TAMI show. The chemistry between Ike and Tina
seems fantastic back in 1966 when this was filmed. Tina's dancing is
amazing, much better than the self parody moves she developed in her
solo career. And who'd have guessed that Ike could dance? In their last
song, Ike dances with Tina, matching her every move.

Donovan's on the show and he's very cute and acoustic, singing an awful
song someone wrote for him, something Joy, as well as his staples. Joan
Baez is there too. Was there hanky-panky between the two of them backstage?

The Byrds footage has been seen on their box set dvd, but I'd never seen
the Spoonful footage before. Zal is quite a crazed presence. Bo Diddley
is no slouch either.

Apart from the privacy that shopping for junior clothing on the
Internet provides, it also gives access to latest changes in fashion
and the privilege to order the merchandise of your liking before it is
launched all over the U.S. Two of the major offline stores, Wal-Mart
and Target have online stores too for the benefit of shopping for
junior clothing.

Another benefit that shopping on the Internet for junior clothing has
is that of the money that you can save while shopping. Everyone knows
that jeans can burn a hole in any ones pocket, even if they are not of
familiar and popular brands. The idea is that junior clothing stores
online offer fabulous discounts and if you get some friends together
and order in bulk for jeans and shirts, you are bound to find bargains
that you could never get otherwise.

OT: Damn, the price of gas keeps going up.

Author: Jeff
Date: Apr 25, 2008 10:39

Around my neck of the woods, it was $ 3.29 a gallon for regular.. a
week and a half ago. Today, it's $ 3.54 a gallon, and supposed to go
up to 5 bucks a gallon in a few weeks. I read this article online
about how to run your vehicle on mostly water. What's the price of gas
in your area, and your plans for coping with this?
