  rmbm server back online

Author: saki
Date: Dec 28, 2007 19:51

Dear folks---

My apologies for the outage. Our sysadmin has had real-life intrusions
in his daily routine and had been unable to spend time troubleshooting
server issues affecting rmbm and rmbi.

The server has now been fixed (we hope!) and I'm going through the queue
checking the status of submitted articles. Traffic should be close to
normal soon.

If you're happy with rmb and it's serving you well, great. If you prefer
a moderated newsgroup, please feel free to post. All we ask is that you
post be on-topic re: the Beatles and contain no commercial advertising
or binaries.

It also helps us if you use a reachable email address in case we need to
contact you regarding a submission.

Actually... Every Little Thing IS a Paul song... in fact it was one of
Paul's attempts to write for the A side of a Beatles single but the
song never reached that level. WHENEVER you can't tell which Beatle
is singing on a pre Revolver era track... odds are that it is a John &
Paul duet!!! Which is a fine treat indeed. Some other notable duets
of this kind include all of their early singles... I Want to Hold Your
Hand ... Tell Me What You See... There is a TV lip sync performance
from the Around the Beatles special that features a duet on Can't Buy
Me Love which I hope to add to my collection soon as it's pretty
great. I'm not sure but I think that John and Paul duet on Come
Together during the chorus or if it's John double tracked... but
anyway...

Off-topic: change of primary email address for Alan W. Pollack

Author: alanwpollack

I'm not sure whether it's fair game or not for me to post this kind of
message in the group, but on the other hand, after all these years, I
continue to receive a steady trickle of email from people who ready my
Notes on Series.

In any event: I've retired my longstanding email account of
awp@std.world.com. Instead, you can reach me at
alanwpollack@hotmail.com

Regards,
- Alan
