New Release Breaks Down Barriers between Experimental, Classical, and Pop Music

New Auricular Records Release Breaks Down Barriers between
Experimental, Classical, and Pop Music

San Francisco - March 1, 2008: G:NOME, the collaborative project
between experimental music artist Alan Herrick of Nux Vomica and
classical composer/songwriter Brent (Mr.) Goodbar has announced the
release of their first full-length recording, Polymorphism on the San
Francisco label Auricular Records.

Polymorphism is G:NOME’s first official release and clearly defies
genre categorization. Solo piano compositions have been combined with
synthesis, spoken word and sound sculpture to create distinct
“explorations” and “concepts”. The focus of the material was on that
of self-realization and is presented through music and words that
explore virtue, fear, discovery, and conscience. The listener is
provoked to consider situations such as discovery of psychedelics
(Accidental Serendipity), the environment (A unique cover of Pink
Floyd’s Breathe), virtuous serial killing (…virtue), animal testing
(Life as a Ghost), and a David Lynch accompanied reflection on
transcendental meditation (The Suffocating Rubber Clown Suit of
Negativity), to name a few.

  Call for Submissions: CD Compilation

Author: herrickalan
Date: May 23, 2008 15:10

Auricular Audio Magazine is a series of experimental, ambient,
soundart music compilations with a unique 20 year history and
featuring a worldwide roster of musicians. After a many year hiatus
and several brand new releases on the Auricular label, we have decided
to resurrect the Auricular Audi Magazine series and begin work on
number 13 in hopes of a June release. The releases will be available
as both CDr and digital distribution through popular online sites
(iTunes, Amazon, Rhapsody etc etc).

DEADLINES
There is no deadline as the production of Auricular Audio Magazine
volumes will be ongoing.

MEDIA QUALIFICATIONS
We will accept media of any length, however, if your piece is more
than 6 minutes we might (but might not) ask you to edit the piece or
resubmit an excerpt of the song. The desired length of each piece is
approximately 4-5 minutes long but we do make exceptions - sometimes
even absurd ones.

  A tough one...

Ok, all of you ambient music lovers out there...

I just snagged a copy of a live show by "Biosphere" from the "NewForms
Festival & Touch 2002" in Norway. Unfortunately, I have absolutely ZERO
track info for the show. I've already scoured all over the net for the show
info with no joy.

If anyone knows where I can find the track info, I'd appreciate it

Thanks!
