We have now started a blog about new music in Western Australia,
featuring commentary on the local scene, not necessarily stuff that
can be broadcast on the program. Come and have a look at

June Playlists: Pushing The Envelope WHUS / Storrs, Connecticut

Author: joelkru
Date: Jul 2, 2008 18:30

Greetings!

"Pushing The Envelope - Music Decidedly Left Of Center" has spent the
past eighteen years bringing you the finest in the outer realms of
rock, classical, electronic, jazz, ambient, world music, and just
about anything else that catches my ear. All this along with a healthy
dollop of new and classic Progressive rock.

PTE now airs on Thursday evenings (EST) from 8 to 10PM. As always, you
can get all the information you need to check "Pushing The Envelope",
streamed in real time, at our web-site: http://www.whus.org

And finally...... as always, I'm constantly looking for new music to
air. (Please note, all play lists are posted to the progressive rock,
ambient, electronic, and contemporary classical music newsgroups, the
Wire, Prog4U, and avant-classical, and in addition to all that, e-
mailed to you.) If you have something that you'd like to share with
our listeners, please sent it along to:

New CD from The Sands Family (Ireland)

Author: banjolin77

THE SANDS FAMILY:"KEEP ON SINGING" (Spring Records)
www.sandsfamilyfolk.com

"The Sands Family" - brothers Tommy, Ben, Colum and sister Anne, from
County Down, Ireland - have deservedly earned the title "legendary"
among their host of folk friends and fans world-wide.

Well known and respected as solo performers and songwriters, their
collaborations are always well worth waiting for and this new
collection "Keep On Singing" is probably their finest to date.

These seven new songs and five adaptations go a long way in capturing
what The Sands Family have been doing so successfully for close on
forty years - and they certainly don't show the slightest signs of
slowing down!

Recorded "live" in their home studio without effects, overdubs or
guest musicians, this is the real deal - a multi-talented Family at
the peak of their powers - and enjoying every minute!

  CD-R and Quest.Room.Project — “Digital Snow”

CD-R and Quest.Room.Project — “Digital Snowâ€

This free compilation/collaboration, released today, is well worth
your time - if you can actually hear it. The opening track is barely
audible and undoubtedly the quietest piece of music on this site. Its
authors describe it as the introduction to “electroacoustic glitch or
‘post-noise.’â€

http://www.netaudio.ru/musica-excentrica/releases/exc014/
ZIP with 320kbps mp3 (91mb)
http://listen.excentrica.org/releases/exc014/exc014_mp3.zip
ZIP with FLAC lossless (307mb)

“Pre-noise†would be equally accurate.

“Pre-noise†would be equally accurate.

Nikita Golyshev, shown above and known professionally as CD-R,
authored “Digital Snow†together with Bogdan Dullsky
(Quest.Room.Project [below]). They worked togehther on this recording
virtually, not physically, merging pre-recorded files with real-time
performances over a peer-to-peer connection.
