Hello Folks,
I just heard from a friend that Rudy Cardenas (M-Pact's FANTASTIC high
tenor) has auditioned (in Seattle) and got through to the Hollywood
round of American Idol Season 6!! :-) Here's a picture of him singing
away in front of the judges...
http://www.americanidol.com/photos/view/?set=112&seq=56
I am SO EXCITED for him, as I'm sure the rest of you would now be!
Let's hope he makes the top 10 (in the very least) and hopefully M-Pact
could then be on Ameircan Television delivering some AWESOME a cappella
to a mainstream audience!! Woohoo...it's SO GOOD to dream that far
ahead!! :-)
ALL THE VERY BEST TO YOU, RUDY!! Go and conquer 'em!
Wil.

The New Year brings us to the beginning of another season of the
Harmony Sweepstakes A Cappella Festival, the 24th annual of this
prestigious event. Last year was once again a rousing success and we
will do our very best to ensure that this year will continue the
tradition of presenting some of the finest vocal harmony groups
performing today from across the country.
This year, for the first time, we have expanded to eight the number of
group members allowed to compete and we are actively seeking both new
and established a cappella groups who would like to participate in this
year's events. Regional shows are held in Boston, New York, Washington
DC, Chicago, Denver, Olympia, WA, San Francisco and Los Angeles with
the regional champions winning airfare and accommodation to San
Francisco to perform in the National Finals.
A cappella groups of all genres and styles are welcome and originality
is always encouraged so if you are in a group, or know of one that you
think should participate, you can learn more at our web site:-

Happy New Year, everyone -
I've been a fairly active member of the greater a cappella world for
many years now, from reviewing for the Recorded A Cappella Review Board
to producing for the International Championship of Collegiate A
Cappella (ICCAs) to singing in my own NYC group (The Sirens).
I have been arranging for the last 15 years and recently started NYC A
Cappella, an arranging service for all a cappella groups big, small,
collegiate, professional, and everything in between.
Just wanted to announce that I'm available to create a custom
arrangement for your group(s), and my already existing arrangements
start as low as $30. I've extended my offer to create your first custom
arrangement from me for only $100. I arrange everything digitally, so
you walk away with a print-out, mp3s of each part to listen to, and
music that is tailored for your group's vocal strengths. Please take a
moment to check out my site at www.nycacappella.com, and thanks so
much!

THE BOBS' AFTER CHRISTMAS HOLIDAY SHOW
Strikingly similar to THE BOBS' HOLIDAY SHOW, but... later
FRIDAY, DECEMBER 29 and SATURDAY, DECEMBER 30, 2006 7PM
THE TRIPLE DOOR, 216 Union Street, Seattle, WA
Manhattan Transfer meets Monty Python.
Robin Williams meets Bobby McFerrin.
J.S. Bach meets Jimi Hendrix.
Grammy-nominated vocal acrobats (and certifiable nutjobs) THE BOBS
return to perform what has become a Seattle tradition - their AFTER
CHRISTMAS HOLIDAY SHOW at the Triple Door. Celebrating their 25th
Anniversary of skewering the classics, breaking all the rules and
clear-cutting their own unique path in the world of vocal music, The
Bobs have brought their trademark wit and musical malfeasance to venues
ranging from Lincoln Center to Los Angeles' Universal Amphitheater to
Berlin's Passionkirche. They recently appeared as special guests in
Judith Owen & Harry Shearer's Holiday Singalong at the Great American
Music Hall in San Francisco.

Hi all,
Just a quick note to say that Realtime has released our new CD. We are
the 2005 world champs of Barbershop, but this album doesn't have a huge
amount of barbershop on it. We're kind of branching out. :) You can
check it out here on our site: http://www.realtimequartet.com
Track list and reviews follow:
