BMW C1, available as a 125 and then a 200, and now discontinued. No, not
a bad idea at all. It incorporates a safety cell, side protectors, and a
seat belt to keep you inside.

Oh, and a windscreen wiper :-))

Ever so slightly top-heavy. Just about every road tester managed to drop
it. And, a big drawback, only ever available as single-seater. And they
were alway a tad expensive.

BMW campaigned long and hard in the UK to get the helmet requirement
dropped for riders of the things, but without success. Anyway, a
commercial failure but an interesting idea.
