RCadvisor.com Releases Calculator SE, Free Model Airplane Design Software

Author: creyes123
Date: May 13, 2008 19:58

Albuquerque, NM-May 13-RCadvisor.com launched on January 1, 2008 with
Calculator SE, an advanced free online calculator for model airplane
building and design. Calculator SE features an electric power system
optimizer, a virtual wind tunnel, a scale model sizing tool, and a
real-time airfoil analyzer. Running on multiple platforms, it
incorporates features distilled from the latest usability research.
According to founder and lead developer Carlos Reyes, "Ease of use is
the primary design goal, but accuracy has not been compromised."

Ease of Use is the Primary Design Goal

Calculator SE uses ToolTips to provide help on highlighted entry
fields, when it has advice to give, or to indicate an invalid entry.
An online tutorial guides the user through common tasks. Twenty-five
interactive graphs highlight trends at a glance. Graphs and results
are recalculated automatically with every data edit, encouraging
experimentation and speeding up the learning process.

Designed as a set of workbenches, each component (motors, airfoils,
etc.) can be analyzed independently. A consistent layout for each
workbench makes knowledge transfer easy. More advanced workbenches for
airplanes and power systems combine multiple components together.

Looks like I picked up one from the "short bus" crowd.

What part of "low-traffic" didn't you understand? Don't strain yourself
trying to answer...

It's been a while, but I finally got some time to post a new article.
This one is about my standard color scheme that I always use so I can
tell which way my airplane is pointed in the air.

  eBay bids on RC stuff

Author: Sam
Date: May 8, 2008 17:40

Maybe it's because the dollar is so low overseas, but if anyone is watching
rc gear auctions on eBay, it's unreal the prices that things are going for.
In many cases, if not all, I can buy brand new through TowerHobbies, cheaper
and with the Tower Hobbies service and warranties. It's stupid what people
are bidding for stuff on eBay.

  What would you do?

A while back, (January 2008) I ordered an SV 26 from Hobby City in China. It
arrived okay in a couple of weeks. I saw their SV 50 and ordered one of
them. They were on backorder, but they still charged me $232 and change. I
heard some bad things about the engine and cancelled my backorder, which was
legal according to their website, though I would, for some reason I cannot
explain, lose the shipping portion of the total amount. Okay, no problem. I
went to order another SV 26 and use some of my credit. No visible credit was
to be found. I thought, no problem, I'll email them. No email address is
available. No credit shows in my account. I mentioned this is another post
elsewhere on RCU. I tried calling their customer service number dozens of
time. No answer, even during our late night...

Hello
I have an older Futaba Gold RC Trans. and another Futaba box that was
piggy backed as a buddy box , the buddy box has a single RCA plug that was
tied to my main Transmitter via wire , wondering if I could feed this unit
into the USB port and run a Flight Simulator on my PC, any thoughts as to
best system would be appreciated .
Thanks
