nah; it's the rule-set only.
Hell; 'kung fu' *means* hard endeavor, and their training regimen is
legendary- same with japanese and okinawans- same with old-timey silat guys,
the Indians, Persians and everybody else.
There is nothing revolutionary about 'alive training' except amongst some
small factions of dilettante suburban mall dojos.
Hell; Willem used to interview new teachers by seeing if they could put him
in the hospital. Few, if any, modern students train at that level of
commitment because there's no legitimate use for such rigorous training.
Sports training has a future and a fun application. You can bump heads and
rassle around, nobody gets hurt bad and a good time is had by all.

Dear Wayne

As you rely on others to answer your questions, I will assist in your ma
education:

Q1: "How many (MT fighters) have won MMA tournaments?"

A: Case in point, World MT Champ Maurice Smith

Cite: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v5tCLLrkn7g

Q2: "What did they do against a takedown?"

A2: Sprawl

Oh, but Mo lost this one, eh? Yup. To Renzo Gracie. On the ground. With an
arm-lock.

It's widely seen as a referendum on Bush, as well as an opportunity to vote
out graft and corruption. Democrats generally steal a personal fortune, but
Republicans do it on industrial scale.

It's not an 'either/or' situation- and lots of people are mad at the
government for widely diverse reasons ranging from illegal aliens to the war
in Iraq to the prosecution of the war against terrorism. The present
administration and a powerful congress have had their way for six years now-
how ya'doin'?

Particularly seeing as how inept, if not downright corrupt, the Republicans

Not when it's a sham to avoid confrontation by subterfuge.
That's one of the essentials in 'martial art'- everything starts from the
understanding that it may all go wonkey in a heartbeat, for incivil reasons,
at any time in the social interaction.
The 'barbs&digs' are less covert- and less-obvious ones are despised for
their cowardice and never overlooked for their intent.
At that; you do seem rather civil and patient
Somebody will get around to being civil and patient back atcha

Is UFC Fighting Realistic?

Is UFC fighting really the closest thing to being a sport version of
street fighting? How close is it?
