Wow. Had heard it was making a comeback, but.....

8x more expensive as .22lr,
4x more expensive as .17m2
and twice the cost of .22WMR.

So will it succeed the second time around?

I don't think it's a comeback; I expect it is just to keep the old guns
shooting.

It's not the only place or context I've seen it mentioned. Somewhere I seem to recall a new offering in 5mm. I wish the round no ill will, but gosh I'm rootin' for the 17m2 to really take off.

Its made by Aguila and sells for $17.95 per box of 50, about the same as the
most expensive .22 lr match ammo. One ad even claims new guns will be
produced "in 2008", which sounds questionable, now that the .22 WMR is
firmly entrenched. - CW
