  TECH: DW Mini-Playfield Advice

Author: faz
Date: Jul 21, 2008 19:37

Regarding the DW Mini-Playfield. There is a metal strip ("flap"??) of
thin spring steel that was very nasty. I bought a new flap and to my
surprise the existing flap was glued down with rubber cement. I
cursed the person that did this and put on my new flap.

It looked great, but after a few weeks the flap starts to buckle in
the middle. A bubble almost 1/8" is created. I take the top of the
mini-PF and flatten it out. A few weeks later, it's up again. Now I
see why the rubber cement was used, but is seems really cheesy.

Any advice on a more elegant solution?

TIA,
faz

Bounty Hunter System 80b Dead Sollenoids

Author: billd420

Hey everyone-

Just when I get my Bounty Hunter working 100%%, it decides to die on me
again. I have already done the suggested fixes on Clay's website
(ground fix, power supply fix, new caps all around), and my machine
was working wonderfully. On sunday, I got a call from my roommate
informing me that the machine kept locking up. I have narrowed the
locking issue down to the daughter board prom... sometimes you need to
press it slightly to make better connection (haven't gotten around to
re soldering the chip socket yet).

Today, when I finally got some time to check out the machine, I was
able to get some gameplay in. Midway through my game, the CPU crashed
and reset. I powered the machine off, and decided to come back to it
later. I fired it up again, and went to play a game, and now the ball-
kicker, drop target and sink target's sollenoids are dead. I tested
the solenoid resistance as outlined clay's guide, and all appear to be
good still.

Q: TOTAN spinner yellow post rubbers vs. older Williams games

Author: Chris Hibler
Date: Jul 21, 2008 18:44

Good evening good folks of RGP,

I'm working on a Williams Triple Action which has the "two posted
spinner" on the playfield, very similar to the one on TOTAN. My
question: Are the yellow post rubbers for the spinner posts the same
height for these older Williams games as on TOTAN?

Thanks folks!

  Price Check: BSD (Dracula)

Author: jojo
Date: Jul 21, 2008 18:44

So a local op has a BSD pinball that is sitting in the back of the
arcade...not turned on. I ask about it and the guy plugs it in and
lets me have a go, but the left flipper doesn't work at all. Maybe a
simple fix, maybe not. Everything else appears to work???

Anyways, the game is filthy of course. But the sides of the cab have
zero fade(they are a beautiful deep red!), and the front around the
coin box has maybe 25%% fade. No visible playfield wear. He says he
would consider selling it...whats it worth?

Thanks for any input!

Which is better flexstone or an emory nail file???

Hey guys, I need to tap into the brilliance of some of you more
experienced members. Specifically, regarding EM machines, when you
first bring home an unshopped pinball and plan to go through and clean
the contacts (all of them) which is more effective? A nail file or
one of the flexstones from Pinball Res-ource? It seems the nail file
is more course but I've used both successfully. Any of you have some
input? thanks

I have several Ball coin doors that are missing the center blank coin
drop plate. I’m in need if several. Is there a source out there where
I can acquire some? Any help would be appreciated.
