Well, PAGG 2008 is in the books!
The good: Tons of games, more vendors than the last couple years with
more good stuff than ever, some very decent buys if you were looking
for project machines, and of course, the pinball peeps came out in
force! The new Stern IJ made an appearance and was super popular all
weekend!
The bad: Fewer AAA games than previous years, lots of repeats, lots of
breakdowns (understandable with the heat, the Pin Medics were working
overtime!) other than IJ4 no real new Sterns.
The ugly: The HEAT. It was bad in the hall, worse outside. I hate to
say this, but I'd GLADLY pay double admission for a venue with some
AC!
It was a great show to kickoff the Northern California pinball/arcade
show season, and had the weather been less of a bastard, probably
would have been a little better than last year for me. Here's looking
forward to next year, and hope to see you all at California Extreme
and PPE!

I am trying to repair a Williams Blackout and have run into a wall
full tilt.
I have finally tracked down the solenoid that has been blowing the
solenoid fuse and frying the output transistors. It is solenoid 15,
which the docs say is the "special" solenoid. By tracing the wiring,
it appears to attach to a small upside down relay in the back box.
When it kicks, in the solenoid fuse explodes and I usually have to
replace the TIP 102 on the driver board and sometimes the 2n4401. I
have unplugged it and now I can get the pin into attract mode at
least.
If it helps, this relay has been hacked. There is no socket for it and
the wires on it are soldered directly to the switch leads on the
relay. The relay is also not mounted to anything, it is just upside
down in the back box.
Any help would be appreciated.
Also, are the schematics for Blackout posted anywhere on the net? I
have looked but all I can find is a really bad operators manual (which
did help backtrack from the blown transistors) but doesn't have the
schematics so I can trace what this relay is supposed to do.

Yeah, everyone had to mention, "I thought you weren't doing this
again". I wasn't, but as some of you know pressure was placed in the
right places. All I can say is don't get used to it. It only took a
couple of hours for me to remember why I stopped in the first place.
The good: I scored that $450 Time Machine. Clean game with just a
little bit roughness on the head. Nice playfield and back glass.
Thank you Dan! Great guy. Only one problem. If anyone bought the
Checkpoint I have your sound board, you may have mine. It's pretty
funny to power up that game and it says "Checkpoint". The displays
are crap but I figured that going in. So unless someone wants to swap
me sound boards I will reprogram this one.
Cliffy, Steve, Steve & Ruth, The Highleys, Rick from BAA, and Martin
and his family of Pinbits, it was fun. Patricia and I had a good
time.
Thanks to everyone who stopped to talk, buy, or just look. It's you
people that make the show.
Real good other vendors, Craig, Craig and Al, Pinbits, Stern
Amusement, BAA, and anyone else I forgot. Nice stuff and good job.
The folks in the food booth saved me from starving Friday.

Have an average condition Shadow Gun Shooter Assy
Was installed on my Dirty Harry in place of the correct gun assy,
which I have located and installed.
Spent a fair amount on the DH/IJ gun, know the Shadow is worth less,
but what's the price range on these? Wanting to price it appropriately.

Saw IJ4 The Movie today. I really liked it. Without giving away too
much, all I can say is it starts out great & ends great. There were a
few slow spots( max 4-6 minutes) to build plot in the middle with a lot
of yadda yadda yah and Harrison Ford throws clues into solutions in a
matter of seconds, like Nicholas Cage in National Treasure. Ford looks
good and the action scenes will not disappoint. Of course, they kept the
original "humor" of the trilogy alive with this release. They used a lot
of blue screening, no cheap models like the mine carts in Temple Of
Doom. Just remember, this is Hollywood and where people should die, they
live, and so it goes. The ending will remind you of another past science
fiction flick but with a different twist. That's all I better say about
that! Movie runs about...

Hey--
Would like to buy the little metal piece that sits behind the upper
left flipper on Judge Dredd. Mine's missing, which isn't a big deal
really, but I'd like to put it back if possible. Thanks!
