While my machine is down I have done some exploratory surgery. I knew
that I needed to clean up some dinging on the ring ramp due to the
original post at the entrance. But I also found that on the exit end
of the ramp, both tips were pretty badly mushroomed. Seems that all
the balls that bounce off the ring have done their share of hammering
little mushroom heads onto these two tips before falling back onto the
playfield. Definitely a hindrance to the ball speed as well as
repeatability of trajectory, not what you want when trying to hit that
ring just right. BTW my machine is HUO and fourth run (2/05) but does
get a lot of play time, so I think everyone will see this on their
machines.
Ideally you want to just grind off the mushroomed portion because the
metal becomes much harder than the surrounding metal due to work
hardening. But I wanted to try to keep the ramp as long as possible
and I figured that the metal that was used was extra soft to begin
with, so I hammered it back into the approximate shape before grinding
and polishing. However a piece flaked out during grinding, so I
wouldn't recommend this hammering method to anyone. Just grind off
the excess and polish. Use a dremel or file to remove the
mushrooming. Then polish with a stone, like you use to sharpen a ...

I broke this piece while waxing the other day. I would prefer to buy
one instead of the whole set if someone has one they wouldn't mind
parting with.
this particular piece goes around the lower pop bumper. It is sort of
shaped like an ice cream cone. email direct if you don't mind.
thanx

I have been thinking about buying a Stern Roller Coaster Tycoon, but I
have not found one to play yet and have only seen pictures of it. Does
anyone have any comments on this machine on the playability or fun
factor before I make the plunge?

Hi everyone: I'm new here to the forums but not to pinball and I feeI
have to share with you my awesome experience that happened to me
today.
I was having a problem with my POTC and called Stern tech support and
talked to Chas for help. He immediately said that the a board had to
be replaced and would send me an exchange with no problem. Being...

Hi folks,
I have a HUO Stern Spiderman. I am the first and only owner. The
game has one flaw which is the typical crack and break of the leading
edge of the sandman plastic in front of the three bank target.
Otherwise, as new. Probably no more than 100 games have been played
on it. It has all the original goodies and I added the less
permanent mylar circles under the ramp drops, etc (I think they were
called stealth something or other). Anyway, the game is like new.
It's yours for $3500 cash and carry. I have IJ fever. Please email
for information and pics.
John
