Tech: Whitewater upper ball popper problem

Author:

Greetings Pinheads,

I have a WH20 that had had some shoddy repairs on it. I have it
running fairly well now, but the No Way Out ball popper 9/10 times
fails to get the ball all the way over the top and into play. It is
even worse when there is more than one ball trying to get out.

I have rebuilt the popper itself (Cap, shaft, sleeve, spring), and it
seems 100%%,all three opto switches are good also.

The wire ramp/tube was totally loose when I got the game, the holes
were stripped & wrong screws installed.

I have it screwed down solidly now, but it seems mis-aligned when it
is screwed down. The end of the wire tube has a pin that plugs into
the top of the mutiball assembly for proper alignment, but when I
tighten either or both screws the tube rotates slightly clockwise, and
the alignment pin raises up and out of the hole.

The tube does not look bent in any way, and I even tried to adjust the
'feet' where the 2 screws hold it down, but this wire is solid!

With the screws in place and a bit loose, I can push the tube back
down so it contacts the Popper/Multiball assembly, and then every ball
ejects properly.

  Updated amplified subwoofer install diagram

Updating my post from a year ago:

http://groups.google.com/group/rec.games.pinball/browse_frm/thread/d4929c5c0b6b1...#85e32c4ffb7419c2

I've put one in ST:TNG (a much cleaner install), and also made a
wiring diagram for it.

Check http://www.idsa.net/sub/ for the pic and diagram.

The sound is just incredible, and I haven't even enlarged the cabinet
hole from 6.5" to 8". Doubt it needs it, the game already shakes the
ceiling :) ST:TNG is an awesome candidate for this upgrade!

If anyone has a Williams Comet Backglass please email me or post. As
long as its decent or a nice repro translite I'd be interested in
buying it from you.

questions regarding fuses in EM game

Author: Mark_in_PA

Machine has a fuse holder labeled:

6V 10A
6V 20A
50V 15A
115V 10A

I would like to confirm what is installed is correct and order some
spares.

These are AGC (1.25") fuses. Does anyone know if the 6V 10A and 115V
10A fuse can be the same fuse if it is rated for at least 115V?

The schematic does not specify fast or slo-blo. Any idea what they
used back in the 50's?

thanks

Dunno if this is a scam or not:

But I believe that might be snow around the garage door and driveway,
and last time I checked it hadn't snowed in SF in years...
