Monty's insurance concept is not a bad idea at all. After all, it
exists in blackjack which is another part-skill, part-luck game.
However, concrete details need to be suggested. One possibility is
that a player who's scared of a roll containing a 6 (or any other
specific number) should be able to insure against that possibility by
betting against it at odds of 33 1/3%%. Many ignorant players would
assume that the site is offering them a fair deal. However, the site
would make money off this insurance plan because the odds of a 6-x
roll are less than 31%%.

Hi,
Just an observation, with so little money in online backgammon it's hardly worth the actual sites cheating. Most of the sites are probably struggling to stay afloat. People using bots are a major pain, but even then they have no guarantee of winning.
If you want to get really scared then read about the UltimateBet poker scam. Poker is where the money is and the scammers know this only too well. UltimateBet may only be the tip of the iceberg. I myself caught two colluders at another poker site ( they got banned ).
You might as well ask " are all bankers stupid?" or should that be depositors?
Merry Christmas,
Bill Hill

After ten years I was finally running out of printed copies of my
first book "Backgammon - An Independent View" and of course I knew
there were a number of errors in the book. Some of these errors were
my own analytical errors, others were highlighted as backgammon theory
changed with the advent of the bots
I published an addendum in 2005 but that is a bit unsatisfactory. With
the advent of print-on-demand websites such as www.lulu.com it has
been relatively easy to create an updated version of the book and that
is exactly what I have done. I have released the book on general
availability today. It features a new introduction and all the errors
(at least the ones that I can find!) have been corrected. Rather than
rewrite the erroneous articles I have left them in place and added an
Author's Note to explain the changes. This gives people a chance to
see how the game has evolved.
Most of my books and those of Danny Kleinman can be purchased via
www.lulu.com. Just key 'backgammon' into the search engine and you
will find quite a comprehensive list of backgammon books.

Dear Backgammon afficionados,
I just uploaded BGBlitz 2.6.0 ( http://www.bgblitz.com), a free update
for all users.
What's new? In increasing importance, so the tension raises :))
- Some small errors are fixed. Especially an annoying one in the
".gam"-parser. Changing the Look & Feel works again without restart
and a bug in the Position-ID was fixed. Some other small issues are
corrected too.
- At several points the match parsers are more tolerant now, and a
couple of usability improvements has been implemented. There is a new
control that Mac OS X users probably recognize immidiately. When you
press the button a popup menu with the possible action pops up (see
http://www.bgblitz.com/news.html).

Hi after having my emails ignored i thought i may be able to get a response here.
My username is Francooo15 and I have been trying to withdraw some of my winnings.
I deposited money using webmoney. When depositing I used my Euro Purse. Now i finally hit some luck and am trying to withdraw some. When withdrawing the cashier will not allow you to withdraw to a Euro purse, it forces you to use a Dollar purse. So i created a dollar purse and requested my withdrawal. So far i had 2 withdrawals rejected because i am trying to use a different purse than the one i deposited with. YOUR SITE FORCES THIS. I cannot withdraw in euros. Please help!!!!
I explained this many times in emails and all my responses were 'please rerequest your withdrawal to the same purse you used to deposit' IMPOSSIBLE. I offered to send screen shots of my webmoney client showing both purses belong to the same account...no response...I asked the withdrawal to be credited to my Euro purse (which i used to deposit) ...no response. More than likely there will be no response to this either but its worth trying.
