March Madness begins with 16 contests being played today across
the nation. First game tips at 12:20 as Georgia off their inspired
effort last weekend face Xavier. Last game will end past midnight....so
12 hours of NCAA Tournament to feed that thirst.

I am backing Temple +7 as a GRADE 3 selection on Thursday. Here
are my thoughts about that contest.

Another early tilt in the Thursday action see the Temple Owls,
winners of the A-10 tournament last week, taking on Big Ten powerhouse
Michigan State. This game is set to go off at 12:30p EDT at the Pepsi
Center in Denver, CO.

Call me crazy, call me nuts, but I really like the chances of the
Temple Owls in this matchup....and that is what it's all
about....matchup.

But first a joke....

A Jewish person, an American and a Canadian were riding in a car
together and were involved in a very bad accident. The ambulance took
them all to the hospital together as they were just barely alive...as
a matter of fact all three died in the same operating room while
doctors were working on them.

Suddenly the three of them appeared in the clouds at St. Peters gate
and as they approached, St. Peter gestured to the American and said,
"If you give me 50 dollars I'll send you back...you are too younf to
be up here so soon."

The American whipped out 50 bucks...Poof! He jumped off the operating
table in perfect condition! The doctors were amazed and asked him how
come?

He said that all he knew is that the three of them were "up there"
with St.Peter and when St. Peter asked him for 50 bucks to send him
back...He paid it and...Poof! Here he was!

The doctors couldn't help but be amazed and asked him, "you say those
other two were up there with you?" (they were on the next two
operating tables in the room) The American said "Yes they were."

Should be a highly competitive game at the Don Haskins Center in El
Paso tonight as the 17-14 Utes take on the hometown 19-13 Miners.
These teams had no illusions of actually making the Dance though each
of them did advance to their respective quarter-finals before being
bounced out in a close game. Motivation shouldn't be a concern for
either team as they should each be happy with a chance to keep
playing.
While Utah was only 7-9 in conference they did face a slightly tougher
schedule than the Miners - who were 8-8 in C-USA. The Utes are rated
a fraction higher than UTEP. But the key here will be their
respective venue performances, as UTAH is only 5-10 on the road but
the Miners are an excellent 11-3 AT HOME! Furthermore, the Miners are
an even 2-2 AT HOME vs teams rated in the top 115...
