And why the banks are failing.

Since 9/11 and in order to keep the economy stimulated the fed
dramatically lowered the key interest rates and opened the credit spigots.

So far so good. Everyone wants to borrow money because the money is so
cheap, every can afford to borrow money where is the inflation.

Inflation is largely kept in check by several new factors...

First is in the stock market which had a tremendous run up.

Second was by moving wealth overseas, where it doesn't affect local
inflation. By having it in a bank in china, it doesn't affect
inflation locally.

Food supply was way up compared to consumption after years of government
intervention. This kept the price down for everyone.

Lastly, and this was totally new. Housing. Housing is where a ton of
the inflation went.

People are used to spending a certain percentage of their income on
housing. Oddly enough, this is based on the size of the mortgage check
which is based on the interest rate and the amount of the mortgage...

Hello,

I used to play poker regularly at the Trop in Atlantic City until
about a year ago after the new management ran the Hotel into the
Ground. This has been clearly documented as the current owner was
stripped of its license and is being forced to sell the Property.
Meantime the Hotel is currently being operated by management appointed
by the Courts.

I have received a promotion in the mail for a room rate of either $29
or $39 during the week (until the end of March) depending on the
number of hours I play (4 hrs $39, 7 hrs $29). My question is (1)
whether the Hotel is still an unclean dump especially with regard to
the rooms (2) Has the Poker Room been run into the ground and is there
adequate action? I really want to play No Limit of at least $2 to $5
and NOT $1 to $3. Are there games available during the week in the
afternoon?

For those not aware ...the first 7 and 1/2 years of the clinton administration
was the greatest in the history of the US economy.

When the dot.com bubble burst and as Clinton left office, the economy suffered
for the last 7 months of his administration and the first 18 months of Bush's

Will Bush be held to the same standards as Clinton , in that, will the same

I was flipping through the channels and watched the AVN awards for a while.

I didn't think anyone could keep a straight face while receiving the award
