Looking for any input anyone has on the above products, both good and bad. I
am considering buying a range that has enough BTU output to cook something
the way it should be. Also comments on duel fuel models is of interest as it
is all new to me. Overhead broiler with high BTU output is another important
item.
Thanks in advance,
Terry

I think you should question the electronic control technology, LED
instrumentation, programming, etc... that all of these brands have
adopted and market. This layer of technology is more trouble (and less
convenient) than represented. You might be better with a Dynasty or a
Garland. Excellent construction; the controls/thermostats are accurate.
They are simple. They never break.
If you really want the next generation technology... look at separating
the oven/broiler and range top. Go with induction for the range; get a
gas/infra-red oven/broiler system.

I agree with Will a Garland or maybe even a new type AGA. I sell
cookers and one of the reasons we didn't go into the domestic market is
the complexity of new kit. No dom kit is very expensive for what you
are getting and with the internet the mark up has been cut to the
bones. Better to pay the same money for something simple and get the
reliability and build quality.

I can's speak for the ranges as my experience is only with gas stove
tops.
I previously owned a 42" 6-burner Thermador and it didn't put out
enough heat (and while I did like the low duty cycle simmer, it still
would burn stuff if you didn't put a diffuser under the sauce pan).
I bought a Viking 6 burner (36") and the quality was awful - I sold it
for half price to somebody who got a good bargain. Also, since the
controls are on the top, the 6 burners are very close together and it
is hard to use more than three burners at a time.

We're doing a kitchen renovation and after all my research I went with a 36"
DF Wolf Range with a griddle, plus a 30" Wolf wall oven and a Wolf
Convection Microwave above the oven. I read too many negatives about
Vikings breaking down. Installation is scheduled in 2 weeks, so it's
premature for me to comment on how they actually work.
