I'm in eastern Wisconsin (Two Rivers, which is on the big Lake halfway
between Sheboygan and Green Bay). I don't spend much time in Oshkosh,
but from what I can tell on
www.pubcrawler.com and the like, it
honestly does not seem to be much of a haven for beer lovers,
unfortunately for you.
However, I do spend quite a bit of time in Green Bay, so I'll spout a
little. Green Bay is a small hike from Oshkosh up I-43 (about 45
miles) but some of the best beer in the state can be found in Green
Bay. Hinterland and Titletown, which are both top-notch brewpubs, are
right across the street from each other in downtown Green Bay next to
the river. Not much farther down to the east of there, on the same
street (called Dousman St. west of the river, becomes Main St. east of
the river) is Cock & Bull Public House, which is not a brewpub but
they boast around 100 different imports and micros in bottles and
about 20 on tap. It's been a while since I've been there but I've
always enjoyed it.
