The Boston Beer Company is an American brewing company founded in 1985
by Jim Koch in Boston, Massachusetts, USA. The beers were originally
contract brewed by the Pittsburgh Brewing Company, though today, more
than 60%% of its beer is produced at the company's Cincinnati brewery.
The brand name for the beers is Samuel after Samuel Adams, a brewer and
an American patriot famous for his role in the American Revolution.

Rustic ale by Capitol Brewing in Middleton Wis. Great beer (but not as good
as blonde bison). It is brewed with grain from Washington Island in Door
Cty (Wis). Good malt sweetness and light on the hop finish.

There's something touching about a beer virgin stepping outside the comfort
zone, and even if the first excitement is based on draught wife-beater,
still it's a good sign.

A few visits to a local brew pub and he could become a certified Beer Bore
(tm) and can get down to the precise difference between bottled and
draught - or indeed, draught and draft.

Bison blonde ale. It's made in the 3rd ward and I'm telling you that it
tops anything from Lakefront or Sprecher. And I do love their beers too.

  A "pint" of beer

Author: James Silverton

Hello All!

I just read an article in a popular science magazine from Britain,
"Chemistry World", where it was stated "Little beats a cool, crisp pint
of beer on a hot summer's day". I thoroughly agree with that sentiment
but the article was illustrated by a picture of beer in the usual 12oz
bottle. Is "pint" just a name for a glass of beer in Britain or does it
commonly come in 20oz (British pint) bottles? I suspect that the use of
"pint" for a glassful is common in Ireland too and I'm aware that the
British and American fl ozs are very slightly different.

  Re: Brewpubs in Oshkosh, WI???

I'm in eastern Wisconsin (Two Rivers, which is on the big Lake halfway
between Sheboygan and Green Bay). I don't spend much time in Oshkosh,
but from what I can tell on www.pubcrawler.com and the like, it
honestly does not seem to be much of a haven for beer lovers,
unfortunately for you.

However, I do spend quite a bit of time in Green Bay, so I'll spout a
little. Green Bay is a small hike from Oshkosh up I-43 (about 45
miles) but some of the best beer in the state can be found in Green
Bay. Hinterland and Titletown, which are both top-notch brewpubs, are
right across the street from each other in downtown Green Bay next to
the river. Not much farther down to the east of there, on the same
street (called Dousman St. west of the river, becomes Main St. east of
the river) is Cock & Bull Public House, which is not a brewpub but
they boast around 100 different imports and micros in bottles and
about 20 on tap. It's been a while since I've been there but I've
always enjoyed it.

Hope this helps you or somebody out there who might be coming to the
Green Bay area.
