I've tried everything that's been offered as a thimble. Silver, brass,
open, closed, rimmed, ultrasuede, leather. Everything.
Today I've found something for those of us whose fingers need some
protection and nothing works - or we absentmindedly slip past the thimbled
finger and puncture another one.
I knew I was going to be a dismal mess if I didn't find a solution while
putting the binding on my sweetheart's quilt. Decided to try just one more
thing. I snipped some sort of

Well, today Rebekah had her evaluation at Kluge Children's Research
Center. After over an hour with the doc and testing and observation,
it was reported that I have 2 children with ADHD. Blessed and cursed
is all I can think. SO, now I'm waiting to talk with the regular doc
to determine correct dosage for vitamins and such because she is not
quite 31 pounds. Really, it's her weight that concerned the doc that
we say today as she is only in the third percentile for her age.
However, he was quick to say that, though she is a tiny little thing,
everything is in proportion and well developed for her age -
surprisingly so considering she was born nearly a month early.
So....i need to work on her weight gain, and we'll go from there.
Larisa, not going to be online for a while while I try to get
everything in place

I'm back and I am glad I found the group. Road Runner wouldn't allow
me on and when I called thme they said they didn't support newsgroups
any longer. I couldn't lose my newsgroup family. I just came back
from Indiana near Napaneee. I didn't get to the quilt shops but went
to Amish Acres and fell in love with the Pecan Bread. I bought a loaf
and had every day for breakfast while in Indiana.

Kathy can't get in through google today so asked me to update you on the
grandgirls. Everyone's good thoughts and prayers are working - and much
appreciated!
Her son got medical cards for the girls in record time, they pushed it
through for him in light of the circumstances in which they were needed.
The sore throats that were stopping them from eating well (which they told
their Mom about but she did nothing) are allergies. They are running some
blood work. And they are in the right weight zone for their ages.
Man, the things they have told their dad and the social worker are adding up
to a bad situation at home with their Mom. The big prayer now is that they
won't have to go back there at all, and be in trouble with her for telling
on her. Dad wants and is pursuing custody. Thanks again, from GrammyKathy.

I opened my mail box today and found this big package that was soft and
squishy. To my surprise it was a big, beautiful hug! Thank you thank you
thank you to you know who. It is so appreciated. I have been so depressed
lately with pain that won't go away, and this lets me know that there are
friends out there that hear my tears.
Thank you and God bless.

The new owner of the yellow table runner sent me a cheque today (said
to call it an early Xmas gift!)...last week, I had told him about my
wish for a Dyson and that I'd like to use a post-dated birthday cheque
to pay for it - would he please change the date and I would destroy
the Sept.cheque? He sent me a new cheque for $500 with the note to
keep the September cheque - Happy Birthday, today to my nephew!! I am
a lucky and a loved Auntie...jennellh

On another list, a woman informed the group that she had received a phone
call from someone telling her that her credit card information was on a
foreign website. ALL of her information. Expiration date, 3 number code
from the back of the card, full CC number, etc. She sent us the site
address and sure enough, I recognized the name of a friend. I called and
told her to check with her credit card company.
The reason I am posting the info here is that the woman on the other list
AND my friend are quilters and they both had internet orders on the order
dates listed.
I am reluctant to just post the site address because it does have all of
this sensitive information, but people need to know. I didn't recognize
anyone's name from this group, but some people don't necessarily use their
real names online.
So, I guess the thing to do is to have you contact me and I'll send the
website address to you individually and you can check for yourself.
There are lots and lots of names.
Use the address below, not the hotmail address in the "From" box. In
other words, if you just hit reply to this message, it's going to get lost
in the mess over at Hotmail.

I just finished a hug quilt for a friend of ds's gf. The friend has bone
cancer and has recently had a recurrance. The girls from her college soccer
team wanted a quilt made for her using photos and notes. I finished it
yesterday---except for the binding. (i will post photos later).
Now for the label....is there some quote or poem that you have used on a hug
quilt to explain its purpose?
TIA
