  Returned to my Quilting!

Author: R. E. Wicker

Have not had the time (too much laundry) to read the whole of this
site but I have returned safely. We attended the Vermont Quilt
Festival in Essex Junction. And I was greatly impressed, both with
the quilts but also the hand book they passed out that has a short
story or inspiration for each of the quilts.

We also went to Simon Pearce's glass blowing factory and purchased a
glass bowl (small) and a small plate to match. It is indeed elegant
but because I am 86 years old I intend to eat my daily bowl of home
made oatmeal in it every morning. Simon thought that was a "riot."

So nowthat I caught up with the laundry, etc., I am going to be back
at sewing together of the 783 piece Scrappy Tumbler quilt.

  Looking for garden theme fabric

Author: Kate T.

I have this old goat of a neighbor (age 78) that puts out a garden
every year. This is a massive garden. I've been helping with the
harvesting, canning and freezing of the produce for weeks now.

I've been thinking of making him a lap quilt as a thank you for an
ample supply of fresh vegetables this year.

I'm looking for fabric that has such things as tomatoes, peppers,
squash, green beans, seed packets, plants, etc.

Can't keep this old goat out of his garden in this heat. The heat
index has been in triple digits lately and he is out there
everyday.... all day.

Can ya'll point me in the right direction.

  looking for eagle pattern

Author: Hanne Gottliebsen

I'm looking for a free pattern for an eagle.

It could be a complete eagle, or just the head. Sitting or flying,
either is ok. I'd prefer something fairly lifelike, in particular not
the sort of "folksy" style.

I prefer piecing, foundation or regular.

It can be fairly intricate, since I only need to do the one for now, and
I'm not in a time crunch - yet :-)

Thanks,
Hanne

I found a link to Bonnie McCaffery's site where she has a series of
video podcasts - interviews with quilters, demos on techniques, visits
to quilt shows, etc. Lots of fun stuff. Enjoy!
