A new quilter in the making!

Author: AliceW

I had my sweet grandson for the weekend (he's the one referenced in my siggy
line), and he actually showed a big interest in sewing while I was preparing
some binding for a baby quilt so I got some scraps and showed him the sewing
machine and he sewed his first seam with me by his side! I may have a
quilter in this family yet! He loved it! And was he proud of his
stitching. "Look how straight I sewed, Nana" he said beaming from ear to
ear! I must have done something right. He went off to play with some
construction paper and came to me with his scissors and asked if they were
ok to use on paper! It was a good day!

Finally decided to switch from Internet Explorer to Firefox. Got tired of
having to go to Firefox to view things Internet Explorer wouldn't let me
see.

Got any tips or advice for me?

A friend kept raving about Foxfire and I decided to try it just to shut her
up.....she was RIGHT! It runs smoothly and, for the failing middle aged
mind, it can remember passwords.

Happy quilting,

Lenore

  VERY OT- Dog grooming clippers???

Author: Leslie & The Furbabies in MO.

Because of Teddy's (Great Pyrenees/Old English Sheepdog) VERY large size,
it's going to cost a small fortune to have him professionally groomed every
month. It looks like I'm going to be keeping him shaved- I have never done
this before. I want to keep him in something similar to a puppy cut for
poodles. Does anybody here know anything about electric canine
clippers/shavers? Any brands to watch out for? Any considerations in what
is best yet reasonably priced? What accessories will I need? Help!

Did anyone find the bunny at Material Pleasures? I found all of them except
for this one and it is driving me nuts.

Thank you for any help I receive.

  OT - Our holiday weekend

Author: Jo in Scotland

Hello folks,

Photos are to be uploaded from our holiday weekend, but here is some
information: http://www.undiscoveredscotland.co.uk/rannoch/schiehallion/
We stayed in a Victorian hotel in Kinloch Rannoch, and climbed
Schiehallion "Fairy Hill of the Caledonians" on Saturday. It took us
3 1/2 hours to get up there and 2 1/2 hours to get down. Others were
faster, but I have weak ankles, and half of the walk is rubble.
Unstable rubble. However, you do get magnificent views from 3,554
feet up and we could see Loch Rannoch and Loch Tummel as well as loads
of mountains and forests. It was nice to have a good meal and jacuzzi
waiting at the end of it! And we slept like stones that night.
That's my first Munro out of the way. Only 282 left to go!

Hey there everybody!

Well, we have successfully made it to South Carolina and are currently
waiting to close on our new house. Boy has it been stressfull!!

At any rate, my new sewing room has enough space for everything that I
own....plus a mid/long arm machine!!! WooHoo! I think I've narrowed
it down to a Gammill Premier Plus, but am still looking.

I just thought I would jump in and say hello.

Juli...now in SC :)

  Non-fabric S.E.X. -- on topic

This is on topic because chocolate is always on-topic here. ;-)

Went down to Berkeley on Thursday to visit family and we had lunch at the
Scharffen Berger cafe. (Grilled portabella mushrooms on mixed green salad
with cocoa nibs. Yum!) Naturally, a visit to the gift shop was in order, and
I walked out the proud owner of 2kg of cocoa powder. (That's the single
serving size, isn't it?)

DH agreed this expense gets filed under groceries. He volunteered that it
could also be filed under medical expenses. *big grin*
