Haidarabad,
Great Britain had its "Squared circle" cancelations,
Haidarabad has its "Circled square" cancelations.

You never know what you are going to get with
India stamps.
(Sometimes one is lucky and manages to get
the beautiful Travancore issues in the lot)

Rodney:

Here is the early 1890s Bamra postal card that your
cut square was cut from. http://cjoint.com/data/fobmpEfjfx.htm

Here is the same value on an envelope. (1891 H+G #B3)
http://www.premierpostal.com/jpg4000/4000195.jpg

Bamra also has its share of revenues.

[India] 1a on 1 1/2a blue postal stationery card used 1893 (11 Feb.)
from Bamra (native state) to Berlin, Germany,, cancelled by Sambalpur
squared circle (15.2), showing Bamra c.d.s. alongside, as well as
Bombay, Sea Post Office and German arrival c.d.s.,

Very Fine "combination" usage of Bamra Native State
postal service and the Indian Post Office

Top Stuff Sire.
I was agog, I already had a folder for Bamra State
with one issue, so I had told a lie.

Mind you it was nothing to write home about,
being as Bamra issues came without gum (applause)
this little fella shows, what happens with aggresive
hinge licking, and page removal can do.

I noted the Kings head was neatly punched out
on your example, not fortuitous I would think :)
great stuff Blair.

You mean my collection may double in size :)

Here is something I found whilst kicking tyres today.
I was looking for evidence for half-rate postage from Venezuela
when love letters were posted in pink envelopes.
(a fruitless search thus far)

but I bumped into this, you probably know of it already.

snipped from the Fakes and Forgeries journal
which is humungously long, hence the take-out.

Bamra produced lots of delightful spelling errors, such as this block
of SG 8, with three errors, and only one correct:

A 'Eeudatory', 'Quatrer' and an inverted e in 'Postage'

Also the little "snail" image is inverted in the bottom two stamps.

Sharp eyes there Blair :)
passed me by.

The image is an Elephants trunk holding a stick.

There are 4 sizes 4mm, 5mm, 6.5mm and 11mm
they can point left or right , upright or inverted.

a nice little matrix :)

still Bamra has no commemoratives, postal dues, airmails, officials, etc. :)
