Well we left no stone unturned,
but still the mystery remains as far as I am concerned.
Are they kids or Political cartoons? and what is that machinery?

The letter form the Franklin Institute

Dear :

The Franklin Institute has, in its collection, the painting on which
the 3 cent stamp was based. On close inspection of the painting, the Chief
Curator noted that the objects to which you were referring were; an 18th
century electrical apparatus, most likely an electrostatic machine, and a
Leyden Jar for storing electrical charge.
I hope this begins to answer your question. Thank you for your
interest in the collections of The Franklin Institute.

Sincerely,

Susannah Carroll

  (RCSD) Stamp Scandal

While working on my Europa collection I ventured into the 50th
Anniversary issues. Holy Cow, what a can of worms I got into.
My search brought up Stamp Scandal.com.
According to this site Michel lists illegal stamps of Afghanistan and
Benin of the 50th Europa. Much more information is on the website
about the nasty stamp people who are involved with stanp scandals.
I am working under the assumption the site is posting true
information.
