Airbus Autoland Incident - Classified Video Leaked to Internet

http://www.dailymotion.com/video/xl2py_atterrissage-muscle

This incident was never reported in the press - the amateur video was
seized and classified by French authorities, but has now been leaked
through the internet.

As in all Airbus landings, the crew of this A320 had no control over the
aircraft. They were just along for the ride as the plane did its thing,
with the result you can clearly see. After landing like this, it is
widely known that Airbus aircraft make an automatic arrival announcement
on the PA (which the crew must listen to as well, to find out where the
plane took them) then plays a tape of "My Way", which the French believe
to be originally a French song.

It is unknown whether there were injuries - or worse - in this
incident. It may be suspected that all of the passengers were given gag
orders by Airbus operatives in the requisite cover-up, and will not
likely be forthcoming with any information of their harrowing ordeal.

It's not spam, the meat or the online advertising variety. It also isn't a
real aircraft event though I'm not sure it's a scale model.

You are actually of the opinion that there are fewer cases where pilots
have made gross mistakes in aircraft accidents than cases where the
accident happened because "the pilot had to fight the plane for control"?
Wow! Care to show us with accident reports how anyone could possibly come
up with that view?

The one that comes to mind is the Nagoya (?) TOGA accident. What aircraft
was that again? And how was that not the pilots being UTTERLY WRONG and
THEN fighting the plane for control?

If the Airbus controls are so bad, then why isn't it reflected in the
accident rate? Overall, there really isn't much difference, as shown in
this site:

Then we have time to bicker about it. Avoiding terrain is always high on
our list of things to do.

I'm in my hoarding mode now.

I'm down to one pill every few days - only used now if I know I'll be
pushing it a little too hard that day (which, of course, I won't know until
too late, since I'll have a Vicodin in me )

Hanging lights, setting up tables, moving things around, unstacking chairs,
etc. over at the Chapter Hangar for our Christmas party ...comes to mind.

For getting your payload (one time) up to space, after that weight is much
less of an issue.
