The Indian air force, which uses Russia's SU-30MKIs, defeated U.S. Air
Force F-15 and F-16 aircraft in recent joint exercises. As if that
wasn't bad enough, Russia has made an even more modern aircraft, the
Su-35, which is so advanced that the Russian air force doesn't use it
yet, but Putin is selling 24 of these to Chavez of Venezuela.
In general, it looks as if U.S. weapons technology cannot keep up with
Russian technology. I remember reading a while back that Russian
submarines are also superior to ours. This has grim implications for
us and for our allies, whether we ever end up fighting the Russians,
the Chinese, or some country allied with either.
