Who'd believe that's me knifing Rob Arndt at :18? He tried to defend
with some kung fu or something but I got him.
But giving a review as the developers all know who I am and live for
me and what I think, everything looks strong, it did kind of seem
choppy/jerky when you move the player, also bullets should be able to
destroy small stuff like benches and trees, they all should be
responsive to the littlest things. Little things should be destroyed
by little weaponry.
It was impressive seeing the wall he was laying behind at 4:51 get
blasted away and the weaponry sounds are perfect IMHO.
Two things that annoyed me and I'd undo, the siren for bomb being
placed and everytime a guy gets killed you as the player see your hand
in desperation kind of signal for help. If both your hands are on your
weapon or you're in a position such as crouch or sit, that won't
happen so I'd omit that or add a ton more specific to the position
you're in. Also, the announcements by soldiers doesn't sound military
so much. Highly trained professional soldiers will have a real
concrete dialect that is awing regarding achieved objetives, now if I
was Hitler and these were my SS guys it'd be "Objective is being
compromised" with regular tone no tension.
One thing I note about US military that was not true about German
military, is that the Waffen SS commanders never yelled, never were
loud, never shouted when in training and defining the Waffen SS
dialect for command. Professional was elegance and that was normal
tone normal volume unless in a hot zone where weaponry was excessively
loud. Waffen SS dialogue was very professional, businesslike demeanor,
never shouting or gun-ho loud volume, but the wording was also very
strict and elegant such as "target is being compromised" or "objective
is met" and if there's more than one objective the objective name/
number specifically would be in that verbal announcement.
Simply, the dialogue and wording just isn't there to make it
realistic, I reflect to CounterStrike as a good reference.
