My last car was a 2005 Chevy Malibu 3.5L V6. Curb Weight: 3174
( Consumerguide.com), F/R%%: 59/41. Tire: Performance-All-Season
Yokohama Avid H4S
My current ride is a 2008 Kia Optima 2.4L 4. Curb Weight: 3142, F/R%%:
61/39. Tire: Grand-Touring-All-Season Kumho Solus KH16
The Malibu(32lbs heavier) cut through up to 4 inches of unplowed snow
like it wasn't there.
The Optima folded up like an umbrella with only 1 inch unplowed on the
streets. Spinning in low-low gear, tracking sideways, holding up
traffic, you name it!
Opinions?

My daughter was recently in an accident. She was hit broadsiide near
the front wheel. The wheel is now bent so that the tire rubs agains
the upper ball joint housing. I will have the car towed to a shop
tommorow. I was wondering if this is a bad sign like a bent frame? Or
is it simply a bent suspension part.

Some of those things have tip-over switches that shut off the pump unless
it's in the correct position. This is a safety feature so if you roll your
car over, the gas shuts off.

Got a little $$ for xmas, thought I would buy myself a GOOD floor jack
to replace the ancient Craftsman 2-ton and completely flimsy Chinese
mini floor jack that I've been getting by with. I remember Lincoln as
supposedly making a good floor jack, but a quick web search seems to
indicate that they're out of the jack biz. Who's currently making GOOD
floor jacks?

I recently installed an MSD 5900 Blaster ignition and an 8202 Blaster 2
coil on my carbed Dakota V6. I now have a slight shudder on moderate to
heavy acceleration from a dead stop. Light acceleration gives no
problem. With the MSD ignition removed and using just the Blaster coil
or the stock coil, I have no problem. All the other ignition components
are fairly new.
I tried advancing the timing by 2 and 4 degrees and retarding the timing
by 3 degrees, but that did not eliminated the problem.
The wiring is all correct according to the MSD schematics. Funny side
note - while checking the Chrysler service manual for this truck, I
found the ignition coil wired backwards in the wiring diagram for the
3.9L spark advance system. It shows the negative terminal of the coil
wired through the ignition switch to the positive terminal of the
battery. The same diagram for the 2.2L engine shows it wired correctly.
I wonder what would happen if the coil were wired backwards... wouldn't
that just reverse the flow of current through the plugs?
anyway...

Depends on the exact state of charge, the temperature, the phase of the
moon, etc.
In some ways an ammeter is not as useful as a voltmeter. 2.5 amps seems
a little high if the battery is fully charged and there is NO load on
the battery. Is that in the car and the engine running?

Go to your local dealer and have a service rep print up the R&R instructions
from their data base.
I did this with my Focus and all the diagrams were real easy to follow.
