The only good thing you can say for only getting one point is that it
shimmers like a solitaire diamond, with nothing to distract from it.....

Well, as much as I dislike Sat night races - they mess up my schedule
- I don't dislike them enough to boycott the RPG, so here goes.

Winner - JPM. Even though he didn't show much in practice, he
qualified 6th.

1. As someone else mentioned, the Hendrick cars just seem to be
missing something this weekend. However, Dale Earnhardt, Jr. manages
to cross the finish in the top 10.

2. Ryan Newman is the second finishing Dodge. Finishing in the top
5.

3. Paul Menard showed some good promise for a while last week. He
keeps it up with a top 10 finish.

4. As much as he wants too, Denny Hamlin doesn't sweep the weekend.
However, he does manage to get in the top i5.

5. I haven't said anything about Robby Gordon for a while, so here
goes. Robby Gordon tries to do too much with too little car and ends
up wrecking himself early, thus guaranteeing himself of a 43rd place
finish.

Segment total to date - +10

Have attempted resend by regular route, but also sending here, if only to
prove I made the call before the race started....

Completely empty headed on this one, but it's a Sattidy night race again,
and I'll get off work just in time to see it, so I guess I gotta make the
call tonight....

1) Top Toy: Busch
2) Top Dodge: Montoya
3) Top Ford: Kenseth
4) Top Chevy: Johnson
5) Top Rookie: Carpentier will hold onto his lead on that I think

Winner: Kahne

(yeah, I know, that contradicts #2, but two diferent shots to get a point or
three :)

Associated Press reports have Bobby extending his stay at Petty Enterprises.
Sponsorship, and a few other details, need to be worked out before an
announcement is made.

Richmond:

The Win: OK, I messed it up last week, so this week I'll try to
get it right: Denny Hamlin wins from the pole (double checked the
starting lineup this time).

1 - top Chevy: surprisingly, the HMS cars looked kinda weak in
quals. I'll go with Kevin Harvick (and 4 tires on the last stop)
since he's always fast here.

2 - top Ford: they all look pretty slow. I'll go with Carl
Edwards for top Ford, since Kenseth hasn't historically been as
good at coming to the front late at this track as elsewhere.

3 - top Dodge: bunch of them up front this week. I'll go out
on a limb and say JPM has the hang of short tracks now, and stays
up at the sharp end of the field.

4 - best rookie: Patrick Carpentier blew them away with a very
fast qualifying run, he backs that up with a strong race finish
to be best rookie.

5 - story: no change in the T35 in points, but the 01, 77, 41,
and 55 all get closer to 36th (currently 61 points, 65, 80, and
110 points respectively)
