I'm having troubles with my 61 bug trans... When shifting into first or
reverse after coming to a stop the gears grind, and in third and fourth the
clutch slips at higher revs. Last winter I replaced the throw out bearing,
could the bearing be the issue? Wrong bearing?

Any ideas would be appreciated,,,thanks...

Hey do the new style alternators fit on the original stand that came with
the later engines with the Motorola alternators? I sure hope so but FLAPS
says no.

I have deleted the original posts, so I cant remember who pointed to the

Last yr of a engine you can work on, cheap parts too.
first yr with disc brakes, stronger wheels.

Other than the fact that the windows are larger will 65-66 doors fit on a
61-64 vw bug.

WOW I love this group !!
I bought a trike that has a 68 1500 single port engine on it that has
some ( bugs ) in it. I live in north east Ohio and need some gaskets and
seals .
Biggest problem is it wont idle unless the choke is kept on and the idle
is real high,I think the gaskets on the intake at the heads are bad & I
did find the nuts on the flanges loose.
Do you guys have a good source for parts ?
I bought a rebuilt carb at US AUTOMOTIVE auto parts but the kid at the
counter couldn't find any listing for any other parts on his computer.
