Sam,
It's hard to believe the Cobra entered my stable 12 years ago.
My new GT is going to be a return to my automotive roots
-- all
business, no frills.

No doubt. But I've been driving a Fox car -- a 5-liter LX and Cobra
-- since 1987. For me, it's time for something new. Plus, Ford this
year has built a MORE than worthy replacement.

You can get plain 412 HP GT for $30K. And if you test drive one
you'll likely start figuring out a way to get/afford one. ;-)

Giving? In my experience, unused military bases are sold to the state
or local governments at or near current market value. That's true
even if the land was given to the military in the first place.

Although a bit late to this party, I'd recommend tracking down Buzz
Haze in Ottawa. He should know who to go to. I don't have a current
email for him, but he can be found all over the Ottawa drags message
boards: http://www.ottawadrags.com/

Hey Sam,
Once in a while I peek in via Google Groups. I still keep screwing up
my replies though - I think I keep sending directly to poster instead
of group.
My email is still seeverist, however I haven't been on Peoplepc for
about 10 years. Since then I've been to Earthlink (and left). However
that email address is still good if you add comcast, yahoo, or gmail
to the end (creative, huh?).

But then I might nener have had a driving instructor to teach a
driving class, so I could graduate HS and go on to lead a great life
in law enforcement. :0)
I figure that the NV Bear turned his face to the right because of the
glare. A normal human reaction is to "drift" in the same direction one
is looking. This is why so many looie-loos at accident scenes, etc,
end up plowing into patrol cars and such.

I've been looking at tire chains for the Cobra.
I really can't be bothered with snow tires, what with swapping on and off
and storage. It's very rare that I even get caught in a storm so I just want
something that will let me _move_ over snow, if need be.
The impetus for this purchase was a storm last friday that left me
completely immobile on about a 1%% grade less than a mile from home. DOH!
These tires just float on the white stuff. :)
If anybody could recommend a good set of chains to fit on a 275/35/18 tire,
I'm all ears. The ones I'm looking at are Z-chains.
Thanks and Happy Holidays!!
