Are you in the USA? Go read one of F. Alton Everest's books on small-studio
acoustics; he discusses suggested shapes and proportions, and treatments.
Many public libraries have his books, or can get them on inter-library loan.
Don't go for the Master Handbook of Acoustics, but one of the smaller ones.
