somebody I worked with said her ancestors
plowed with a horse so she could not evolve to use a computer.
I go barefoot all the time, and when I don't I prefer
heels. But on this particular day I was wearing sandals that I nonetheless
kicked off.
She comes down the hall in her jeans (!!) and sneakers and starts telling
me I should get some sneakers because they are so comfortable. I say there
was nothing wrong with the shoes i was wearing but that if I had been
wearing heels, which I prefer, (then I could have put them back on without
trouble, whereas I had to take trouble with the sandals.)
So then she tells me that I need sneakers because for every inch you
abandon in the heels, you obtain so many IQ points.
\
I wanted to say O really have you learned how to use the computer yet.
\
Dag, I mean, if sneakers really do that, she has a long way to evolve, may
have to figure out how to bury her heels in earth

Is the NYE special from Nashville radio-only this year? I didn't see it on
the TV schedule, but I must admit I only looked at the PBS station's
listings.
It was kind of fun last year, seeing things like the next performers being
staged behind the current act, the subtle glances and gestures the
musicians exchange to keep their improvisations aligned and their solos
ordered, the interactions between the dramatists, and especially the
interactions between Garrison and the sound effects man. I'll miss that
this year.
