  Up the spout

Author: Miles Collins
Date: Jul 16, 2008 10:39

In earlier episodes I recall the expression "going pear shaped" being used all
over the square for things going wrong.
Yesterday however, things were going up or down the spout (on three occasions, IIRC)

Did anyone else notice this?

We in Oz have recently had the privilege of welcoming Bianca and her tribe
into our homes. Will she be staying long?

There seems to be a lot of screaming in her scenes.

My dinner tonight was a bit like a soap - fantastic individual ingredients
but the wrong producer was with the wrong director - the result was rubbish.

Corrie has its good points and its bad points. There is a lot more humour
and joke characters giving people light relief. There is the old guard,
providing familiarity for people who have been watching it since the early
days. There is the occasional nutter to keep the programme's profile high in
TV Quick et al. There are the pretty people to try and attract a younger
audience. It is more fun but less dramatic and full of poor actors who
couldn't work outside The Street.

  Joe Wicks beheads "moderate Muslim"

Author: Thomas
Date: Jul 12, 2008 10:02

"Some viewers were taken aback when former EastEnders actor Paul
Nicholls was seen in the drama hacking off a moderate Muslim's head in
an unprovoked attack.

He plays a member of the fictional White Wings Alliance, a group of
far-Right evangelical Christians inspired by the Crusades."

The BBC are really, really crazy.
