BENJAMIN BATTLES TERRORISM

CANTO 1

The Story. Benjy, in the womb, is two weeks overdue, resisting being
born. He argues with God begging not to be sent into the world,
claiming he has heard and felt enough to know that he’s not wanted by
his parents and will not be safe with them. God
insists on his being born, reassures him he’s being given the tools he
needs for survival and ejects him from the womb into the world.

Before hearing my mother’s cries bringing
me to earth, I heard my father’s angry yelling,
felt his punches smack her womb, stinging,

alerting us to dangers for rebelling
against him…provided early training
for living without human fondling.

God, do you need one more baby for braining?
They won’t find peace, just perpetual war.
I’ll be the target of endless caning.
