Wondering where I might be able to find a replacement 7506 headband.
Mine no longer hugs my head so to speak and always seems to want to
slide off. Over stretched I suppose. Actually, the question should
be posed; is it worth the effort/trouble to order/ship and change out
this part? Anyone had to deal with this problem before?

I've been looking around and many of the solid state recording devices
and it seems the cheaper they are the more they tend to employ the SD
or SDHC cards as their media format as opposed to the Compact Flash
media cards. Is there any real advantage to one over another? Thanks
for any input.

Hi guys!
I was trying to use a Contek PR72b receiver as a wireless line out
device, using it's output to feed a Sound Devices headphone
amplifier.
But when I do this the Contek receiver won't turn on, as it does when
I plug a headphone on it.
Is there something I can do to solve this and use the Contek this way
or should I forget this idea, and use a wireless radio tx/rx instead,
like a Sennheiser G2?
Thanks a lot
Tony Muricy

Hello everyone... A client of mine i did a feature for last year has
requested to send him back up files recorded on a 744t... it's worth
the whole internal hard drive... i don't see myself burning over 20
hrs worth of back up files... any suggestions in a way to import all
files into an external device that would be easy to ship off?

I'm looking into buying the Zaxcom camera radio link and have a
question of anybody that already uses this kit.
Is it worth the extra $1500 to have the IFB100 for camera return
confidence monitor?
I already have Black Box timecode tx/rx so can receive timecode from
camera.
Also the IFB100 is another box to put on the camera and its not that
small.
Also if I'm recording backup audio onto the TRX900 I'm covered if it
does go pear shaped.
And anyway from what I read from users of this kit its pretty reliable
on the RF front.
Thanks
Dave

This may be more for the ENG/News guys but feel free to chime in. The
Election year is well upon us and things are crazy right now. Booking
calls are coming in and confusion about how to handle them all has
also set in. EG: This past Monday a regular client of mine called
and asked to put me on ROFR (right of first refusal)or hold for Monday-
Wednesday of this past week. That same day another client called and
offered a firm booking for NBC on Tuesday. We all knew that the storm
was coming because of the Clinton/Obama debate in Cleveland. I called
the first client back and said I was offered a firm job on Tuesday,
and she said to take it because no calls had come in yet. So I took
the job. On Tuesday evening she calls me and said "we still have you
for tomorrow", ABC needs a crew in Cleveland. I told her I have not
been released by NBC yet and they are looking to book us again for
Wednesday, and she says "no, you committed to us first". How do you
reply to that ? I took a firm job on Tuesday that everyone well knows
can bleed into the next day, or I may have to travel all night to get
to the other shooter for the job the next day (which after 19hrs on
the clock, I'm not willing to do) Was it my responsibility to call
her back and challenge her job, or let her know that my current client
was considering booking us another day? Because of the all that was ...

To the Group:
At long last we have the thermal pads for the SM series transmitters.
These are a light weight beige hypoallergenic foam to keep the SM from
acting as leg (or whatever) warmer. It took us a while to find a safe
soft foam with an aggressive adhesive that would stick to the
Nickel-Teflon finish on the units. They are removable and reusable if
you put them back on the slick backing paper.
If you own an SM series unit, call or email
nancy@ lectrosonics.com
with the info, mailing address and model of SM (SM is PN 35923; SMd or
SMq are PN 35924) and she will mail out two pads per unit at no
charge. We will be including two of these pads with the units in the
future.
Best Regards,
Larry Fisher
