Rec.audio.pro has taken a sudden turn for the worse. Bret Ludwig has chosen
to post long and often in favor of subjects abhorrent to many: racism,
Hitler apologies, etc. I on the other hand continue to write cogent
discussions on my booming professional audio career. Mr. Ludwig is a nazi.
I am not. The subjects Mr. Ludwig discusses, and his advocacies, are
related to white supremacism, war, and genocide of unimaginable scale
throughout human history. While I cannot say I know that Mr. Ludwig is a
monster, there is something quite horrible lurking in his heart, perhaps
sharing space with better emotions.
In what I am about to suggest, I considered the pain it might cause Mr.
Ludwig, as opposed to allowing
rec.audio.pro to be overtaken by hate
speech and the reaction to it. Furthermore, my suggestion is merely a
suggestion. Rather than tell you this is the only right thing to do, I
respect the decision of each participant in r.a.p. with respect to this
matter as the right choice for that person.
So here it is: Do not respond to Mr. Ludwig on any subject save audio.
Resist the temptation to engage him, because for him, engagement is a kind
of confirmation. Allow him to reign undisturbed over a domain of silence.
Eventually, time will form a capsule over him like a fly in amber.
