  zaxcom radio recording question

Author: hudempka

greetings group,

Question about the Zaxcom radio's

I am about to possibly self finance a pilot in which i will not only
be doing sound, but sometimes appearing in in a non sound role. This
is going to mean I am not always going to be able to run the sound
from my bag.

I have been conceptualizing the best way to make a setup like this
work and have come up with an idea i would like to run past some of
the folks using the zaxcoms with recording and t/c as i have never had
a chance to use them.

If I was to be wiring 4 people, would it be possible for me to jam 4
tx to the same timecode source at the top of the day, attach the main
person's rx to the camera, and then just let the other 3 run free,
then at the end of the day take all 4 SD cards out of the TX and post
could sync all the individual tracks afterwards?

There's obviously a risk in unmonitored wires, but I have enough
confidence in my abilities to keep on top of all this, and i will be
able to keep tabs on radios sporadically throughout the day.

Using Irish radios in the U.S.

Author: Damien Looney

Hello,

I'm heading to Washington DC in a few weeks on a shoot and as I'm
Irish based, my radios (Micron 700's) are in the 841.850MHZ to
864.900MHZ range. I don't know much about what frequencies are legal
in the States so I'm wondering if anyone knows who's toes I could
potentially be stepping on if I use these or if there's anywhere I can
find out what's operating in this range over there. I'll rent some
different ones if I have to but really don't want to have to get to
know some knew equipment while I'm on the job.

As I'll be in Washington, anyone know any good audio dealers located
around there? I'll probably take a trip down to B&H in New York again
(could one store possibly have more cool stuff in stock???) but a new
store to go and explore is always a welcome distraction!

If anyone is doing any work across Europe then please check out this
site http://www.efis.dk/search/general It has an extremely detailed
breakdown of the entire range of frequencies in use in most of the
countries in Europe and has saved me from arriving in a place to learn
that people like NATO troops happen to be on the same block and don't
want to share!

  OT - visiting London

Author: filmrave
Date: Feb 14, 2008 08:23

Hi folks,
I'm going to spend a few weeks in London trying to find a shared flat
or something. I'd appreciate if my british colleagues could give me
some hints which areas one might look at respectively rather
avoid......
Please reply to list AT irisartist dot com. thanks, Karl

PS I just survived my second Moroccan feature - the production moved
now on to Lebanon and 'for good reasons' we didn't move with them ;-)
Contact me first in case there's a job offer floating.....!

  advantages to the LLC

As I posted before I'm putting together a sound package for the first
time but have been a sole proprietor for many years. Now that I'm
buying gear is it a good idea to become an LLC? thanks group
