Hi, does anybody out there know of an inline XLR barrel with a mute
switch of some sort? I want to plug directly into an SD 722 and need to
lose the 10dB of gain still present when the pot is fully closed.

It is generally, at least here in the US, accepted that production mixers
leave any radical compression/filtering to those in post production who can
1) get a more accurate sence of accoustic space by listening to speakers
rather than headphones and 2) undo any bad choices. I'll continue to go
with that plan and hope that I am not replaced for not EQing a "location
problem" into a "sound problem."

Not going to purchase and install Avid to do transcription conversions! :)

How isolating are these, compared to Sennheiser earbuds and others?
Currently, I'm using the Sennheiser

which are the consumer version of the IE4.
They provide the best isolation I've ever experienced. However, some of the
situations I'm in are too extreme even for these. Do the Remote Audio
over-the-ears have a chance of beating them?
