I agree. I like this, too. I think this might also show that perhaps the
designers of Inform should solicit some opinions *before* all aspects of
Inform are developed. Allow some community feedback into the design process.
To a certain extent, people won't know what they want until they see some
working version, but in other cases, proposals for features or developments
or implementations could be brought up before the community. I'm not talking
open source here. I'm just talking about harnessing the ideas of the
collective community that actually want to use this thing. To me Inform 7 is
a system designed by people who knew Inform 6 and designed for people who
would, at least at some level, know the limitations and constraints and
structures of Inform 6. (I know that wasn't the intent, but that's certainly
how Inform 7 appears to me.) Plus this way the designers can see what things
are confusing and even if those things are going to stay, can tailor
documentation accordingly. Right now everything is reactive and it shows.
