Re: Events hit by Marvels: Eye of the Camera

Author: Raymond Speer

I've earlier commented that I never forgot Jim Shooter's SECRET WARS II
sequence in which the Beyonder is taught (by an all-star cast) how to
sh*t.

But Shooter did not decompress his narrative like 21st century comics
scripters do. The lesson was successfully imparted in under a page.

For the new EYE OF THE CAMERA, use at least thirty pages of art in
imparting the lesson. Or better yet, use the entire mini series to tell
the BOWEL MOVEMENT SAGA.

When will McFarlane have the action figures out?

Jackpot Isn't Mary Jane (Spoiler Requested)

Author: Raymond Speer
Date: Dec 25, 2008 06:10

Following the notorious memory cancellation that Peter and MJ bargained
from Mephisto, there was a "new" heroine in the Spidey books. Another
super athlete with elevated everyperson abilities, who called herself
Jackpot and looked precisely like Mary Jane Watson in bodysuit and mask.

What the heck ---- I figure the baseline humans of Earth 616 have better
odds of becoming superpowered than I have of winning the lottery. So
such things happen.

I have not bought or read the Spidey current issues as I refuse to
subsidize character carnage like OMD/BND, but in another thread, I
learned that (appearences aside) Mary Jane is NOT Jackpot.

So the spoiler I beg for is a brief summary on, who is Jackpot? A
visitor from a better written Marvel Universe? Mr. Sinister's try at an
MJW clone? A complete unknown who coincidentally could pass as MJ's
twin? Or (my favorite fanwank) the JarviSkrull, who wants to try the
nephew after sampling the aunt?

Steranko's Nick Fury 1 & 4-7. Comic art still hasn't caught up to where
Steranko was in 1969.

I like it, and I'm ordering the sequel. I love me some Jim Starlin!
But I do have to admit some surprise that DC decided to go ahead with
a sequel.
