FAQ: Ads and Auctions on the Comics Newsgroups
Adapted from the REC.ARTS.COMICS/REC.ARTS.COMICS.MISC FAQ
Version 1.1--June 6, 2002

By Carl Henderson
Updated by Karl Hiller
Based on original FAQs by Francis Uy, Tom Galloway, Paul Estin, et al.

1: WHERE CAN I POST ADS, AUCTION ANNOUNCEMENTS, OR WANT-TO-BUY NOTICES IN THE
REC.ARTS.COMICS.HIERARCHY?

The only place for such posts is in rec.arts.comics.marketplace.
RAC.marketplace is a newsgroup created for the purpose of for buying and
selling comics and comic-related items.

In other words, RAC.marketplace is where your customers are. If you want to
reach them; post there. However, ads posted to other RAC newsgroups can only
serve to annoy potential customers--and you probably don't want to do that.

All other RAC newsgroups are discussion-only groups; "for sale," "want to
buy," and "for auction" posts are off-topic in those groups--and most likely
a violation of your ISP's subscriber agreement.

2: WHAT ARE SOME POTENTIAL CONSEQUENCES OF NOT FOLLOWING THESE POSTING RULES?

  Lo3W: Rob's Wild Final Crisis/LSH/Superboy Prime Theory

Author: Rob Jensen
Date: Aug 28, 2008 21:11

I've got a theory . . . it could be bunnies, but just in case it
isn't, I'm adding spoiler space.

SPOILER SPACE AHOY-ISH

Okay. I kinda have no basis in fact for this yet, but since we've had
these discussions of what Superman means when he says that he wants to
"redeem" Superboy-Prime, I had been wondering. Then I read
Newsarama's interview with Geoff Johns regarding Lo3W at:

http://www.newsarama.com/comics/080825-SpoilerSportL3W.html

And Johns goes on to say that the TIme Trapper is going to be a part
of the storyline. (Well, you've gotta have your heroes' equivalent of
Dr. Doom in a story like this).

And I started thinking . . . Time Trapper . . . Time-bending powers.
Superboy-Prime . . . time-smashing powers.

Yes, I'm thinking:

Time Trapper = older Superboy-Prime, powers diminished, Still
unredeemed. Still really, really cranky.

Well, at the very least four if you count two Mon-Els, Andromeda and
Supergirl. Eight, if you count three Sun Boys and Inferno. Nine if
you include White Witch and her magic (more if there's more than one
version of WW among the three Legions -- and I'm counting all of this
off the top of my head just to see if I can do it). Fourteen if you
count all three Element Lads and their abilities to transmute any
substance into Green and/or Gold Kryptonite (depending on their
Kryptonite of choice). Fifteen if you count Gates and assume that he
can teleport only a segment of Prime. Eighteen if you count the
Brainys coordinating any attack by any combination of the above on
Prime.

Will Zatanna get a book of her own? That lady would make a great
leading character, given the fact that at times she seems too fond of
fooling around with people's memories, an idiosyncrasy that makes her
quite scary.

Oh, well.

Adding crossposts to rac.dcu and racdlsh anyway.

One more thing for those who don't want to launch the URL (yet): Geoff

LORELAI: I am so done with plans. I am never, ever making one again.
It never works. I spend the day obsessing over why it didn't work
and what I could've done differently. I'm analyzing all my shortcomings
when all I really need to be doing is vowing to never, ever make a plan
ever again, which I'm doing now, having once again been the innocent
victim of my own stupid plans. God, I need some coffee.
