I don't think it's out yet. I did see the Ebert (in name only) and Roper
review and both reviewers liked it. It does promise to do well, although the
first half-hour might be a bit slow.

Saw it after work yesterday.

It's flippin' brilliant; easily the animated film to beat. Pixar
seems to have earned free reign and blank slates to do whatever the
heck they want, and they got to do a 90%% silent film about a rusty
robot, his cockroach pet, and a dystopian garbage heap Earth, with
heavy-set humans that aren't conventionally attractive, and a iMac-
looking "female" bot that carries a plasma rifle.
If the Japanese did it, it's probably be more deliberate, less kawaii
(believe it or not), and be tosed off as an interesting but
unwatchable foreign flick. Pixar gets a pass, and their art will get
more respect for it.

Mark this moment in your animation history books, folks. This could
be the weekend where ANYTHING seemed possible for the art form, in the
eyes of the animation seculars :-)
